What Sansovi GCC Does in Insurance Technology & Actuarial Engineering

Sansovi GCC’s InsurTech CoE is India’s specialist advisor for insurance technology GCC establishment. The insurance sector has domain depth that justifies separation from the FinEdge (BFSI) CoE: actuarial modelling, underwriting AI, claims automation, IFRS 17 implementation, Solvency II capital modelling, and IRDAI regulatory compliance each require specialist insurance domain knowledge. Our InsurTech CoE brings this depth alongside proven GCC setup capability.

We work with global insurance companies, reinsurers, insurance technology platform vendors, actuarial software companies, and InsurTech startups building India engineering centres. Whether you are exploring India for the first time, scaling an existing centre, or reviving a stalled GCC, our engagement begins where you are — not where a standard playbook says you should be.

The Challenge We Solve

Insurance GCCs face a specific talent challenge: actuarial talent — combining mathematics, statistics, and insurance domain knowledge — is one of the scarcest professional profiles in India. The Institute of Actuaries of India produces a limited number of qualified actuaries annually, and fully qualified Fellows (FIAI) are extremely rare. IFRS 17, implemented from January 2023, requires actuarial technology that must be rebuilt from legacy IFRS 4 systems. Solvency II (for European subsidiaries) adds further capital modelling complexity.

Layer 1 — Knowledge

Qualified Actuarial Talent in India

FIAI, FIA, and FSA-qualified actuaries remain among the hardest professional profiles to hire in India, with the qualified talent pool growing relatively slowly.

Workspace Delays

IFRS 17 Actuarial Software Engineering

IFRS 17 implementation continues to drive strong demand for professionals who combine actuarial knowledge with insurance systems, data, and software engineering expertise.

Limited Access to ASPICE Assessors

Underwriting AI & Insurance Domain Talent

AI-driven underwriting requires a rare combination of machine learning engineering and deep insurance underwriting knowledge, making experienced talent difficult to source.

Employer Brand Visibility

Claims Fraud Detection AI Expertise

Effective claims fraud detection depends on understanding insurance claims workflows, policy structures, and fraud patterns that general-purpose fraud AI engineers may not possess.

Entry Model Decision

IRDAI & Multi-Regulator Insurance Compliance

Insurance GCCs serving multiple markets must manage IRDAI requirements alongside frameworks such as APRA, PRA, and EIOPA, creating a complex multi-jurisdiction compliance engineering challenge.
